Dongola – Al-Majd News
Dongola – Professor Al-Waleed Mustafa Ibrahim, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dongola, received a delegation from the Darfur Regional Government at his office. He warmly welcomed the delegation and praised the strong ties between the university and students from Darfur.
Professor Al-Waleed affirmed that the university had admitted all students from Darfur who arrived in Dongola, placing them in appropriate academic levels and providing them with accommodation in university dormitories. He noted that the university demonstrated great flexibility, requiring only a single document to facilitate the admission process. He further stated that students were accepted into various faculties, including Medicine and Nursing.
“All admitted students will be able to continue their studies until graduation,” he emphasized, adding that the university has never closed its doors to any student. “There is no difference between a student from Darfur or from the Northern State; we treat them equally.”
He also highlighted that, prior to the beginning of the academic year, the university’s dormitories had already accommodated individuals displaced by the war in Darfur, as part of its social responsibility.
The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the university’s commitment to overcoming all possible challenges facing students from Darfur and to providing them with a stable and supportive educational environment.
For their part, the visiting delegation expressed their deep gratitude to Professor Al-Waleed on behalf of the Governor of Darfur and members of the regional government, appreciating the university’s generous support for Darfuri students, which has significantly helped them continue their education under difficult circumstances.
The delegation included Al-Omda Tahir, the regional government coordinator in the Northern State, Dr. Abdulwahab Hemmat, political advisor to the Darfur Regional Government, and Mr. Murtada Omar.
